Voxbone in September announced introduction of SMS support for its direct inward dial (DID) numbers for carrier and enterprise customers in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The new service leverages the growing popularity of texting by enabling end users to receive text messages on local numbers without having to go through third-party SMS providers, perform separate configurations or sign separate contracts. The new function takes advantage of Internet protocol (IP) networks’ capacity to converge voice and data and helps Voxbone customers maximize their number assets. Voice and text become two features of the same number, configured once, making it as easy as possible to add more features.
